New Fantasy LARP in central Indiana!

"The Trials of Terra Nova" is a fantasy boffer LARP being run in the Indianapolis area. The game features characters exploring a new continent, bringing the cultures of the old world with them as they encounter the new creatures and cultures of Terra Nova. Foam-padded and latex weapons are used in a lightest touch combat system, weaving together improvisational acting and creativity with the physical activity of combat.

In other words, you get to run around in the woods and hit your friends with padded sticks. It's more fun than it sounds. *grin* Core character classes include artisans (like crafters/producers), clerics, sorcerors, rogues, and warriors. There are literally dozens of elite classes that can be taken from there. About a dozen different races can be played, from almost a dozen different cultures.

The game is still in playtest, the rules are largely in place but we're trying to fine-tune the system. More info can be found at http://terranova.hqforums.net, or by emailing trialsofterranova@gmail.com to contact Megan Werle (Logistics Marshall for the game). The upcoming event is our first overnight playtest, and we're pleased to share that we'll be staying at Camp Sertoma (at the intersection of German Church Road and Highway 52). The camp features a nice enclosed pavilion with a central firepit, six sleeping cabins with bunkbeds and electricity, showers, and flushing toilets in addition to some beautiful trails.

If anyone wants to come out they are more than welcome to make a character and play a PC. If you have never played in a boffer LARP before we encourage you to NPC for your first event, as it is the best way to get familiar with the rules and see the various character options.

Our next event is Saturday June 19 - Sunday June 20
TONS of info about this event in particular can be found here:
http://terranova.hqforums.net/june-19 ... vernight-event-vt210.html

PCing costs $30, NPCing is free
We do ask that anyone playing sign a liability waver, which we will have available on site. Anyone under the age of 18 must have a parent or legal guardian sign the consent and release form.
Check-in starts at noon at Paul Ruster Park on Indianapolis east side
Game starts at 2 pm
This event is going to be slightly unusual as we are moving from Paul Ruster to the Camp Sertoma, where we will be camping overnight and playing. The camp is less than a mile from Paul Ruster Park, and when we break to change locations people are going to be encouraged to go get food at one of the nearby restaurants.
Game will resume at 11pm at Camp Sertoma, and will run overnight and through the next day until 8pm Sunday.

PLEASE contact trialsofterranova@gmail.com if you have any questions.
There is a googlegroup that hosts our rulebooks and game-related files (including the liability waver) at http://groups.google.com/group/trials-of-terra-nova
